Today, May 27th, during the early morning hours, a deadly house fire occurred in our town at the home of the Toone Family.

Out of respect for the family, we will not comment on specific details. However, the Town will assist the family with their ongoing needs. We have also been working with the American Red Cross and Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins.  Firefighters from multiple districts responded, as did several EMS squads, the Cortlandt Peekskill Regional Paramedics, New York State Police and the Westchester County Police. We would like to recognize all of these first responders who heroically placed their own lives and safety at risk responding to this emergency. 

The Town government and the entire community are sending our thoughts and prayers to the family in the wake of this horrific tragedy.
