Art IRL! Artist of the Week: Kara Wilson

Release Date: July 24, 2025

In its final weeks at Town Hall Art IRL!, is an exploration of works by artists who use digital tools in their creative process or who create works that solely exist in the digital realm. As we slip into the heat of summer Kara Wilson’s work, Kaplans Pond, Summer, offers us a refreshing vista bathed in cool blues and greens. Her flat graphic composition, a seamless blending of digital and analog techniques, invites us to dive right into the calm cool water!

Kara Wilson is Croton-on-Hudson resident, a professional creative director, and visual artist, working in screen printing. Kara’s work explores the abstraction of portraiture and landscape, expressed through layers of deconstructed geometric shapes. Her process begins with hand-drawn sketches, then digital renderings, using the software, Adobe Illustrator. The preparation of each screen also involves the use of digital tools, but her ultimate aim is to bring her visions into real life. Kara holds a BS in Studio Art and Art Education from Skidmore College. To view more of Kara’s works or inquire about her pieces in the exhibition, please visit:
