Water Main Break
(May 9, 2026)

Good afternoon this is the Cortlandt Consolidated Water District with an important message regarding water service to your area.  

The Town of Cortlandt Water Staff is making emergency repairs on the water main on Crugers Avenue. At this time we expect repairs to be completed by 1:00 pm this afternoon.  We will post additional information later if the repairs will extend past this time. We are also experiencing issues to the water service to Verplanck due to a water main break in Montrose at North Street and Glen Lane.  MID water is currently making the necessary repairs to their system and Verplanck water pressure should return to normal by noon today.

When your water has been restored you may experience discolored water or air in your lines. We ask that you refrain from washing clothing until the cold water in your home runs clear and the residual air has dissipated.
